My work is deeply rooted in the city I call home, drawing inspiration from its evolving landscape and the connection I share with its familiar forms. My creative process is driven by observations from multiple vantage points—moments collected from daily life, urban treks, and the repetition of routine. These fragments, gathered from memory, are layered into imagined landscapes where architecture, texture, and space intertwine. Buildings and neighborhoods overlap, forming surreal structures that evoke both the real and the imagined.
Printmaking adds an additional dimension to this exploration. The medium challenges my drawing practice, pushing me to create intricate spatial relationships and dynamic patterns, while embracing the inherent grain of woodblock printing that softens the hard edges of urban architecture. Each stage—sketching, tracing, carving, and printing—allows the work to evolve beyond its initial concept. The layering of patterns and fields of color introduces a sense of movement and energy, inviting the viewer to experience the city through textures and forms that are felt as much as they are seen.
